versatile item that can be worn in cool or warmer weather (if we are lucky) – enough material to keep you covered but loose enough to allow your legs to breathe. We thought we’d give you some inspiration on how to fashion this skirt with some staple countryside brands. “Last year was about the mini skirt but this year the maxi skirt has made a comeback”

It's no surprise Founder and Editor-In-Chief of FEMME Country Magazine, Bronte Mitchell has got a great eye for elegant Country looks. So much so that we are so proud to announce each month Bronte will be giving us her hand picked selection of looks she's loved that month. She's started off with five looks showing a range of styles.

Lovely amusan

(@lovely_amusan) – Her name mirrors the insanely beautiful looks she creates, and this one is no different. This look combines luxury street style with quintessential country embellishments, and I hope I’m not the only one doting at the ruffle neckline peeking above the blazer! The relaxed fit of the wide-legged striped trousers juxtaposes the structured shoulders of the blazer, and if that alone doesn’t wow you then the matching brown tones from the shades of her sunglasses, the lining of the lapels and the full colour handbag surely will.

Emma quincey

(@emma.quincey) – Ever thought about safari-inspired style? Once I saw Emma’s refined safari look on Instagram, it was all I could think about! Partnering a traditional beige utility jacket and matching high-waisted shorts, Emma has created a timeless outfit that screams adventure whilst remaining functional and comfortable. Beneath the jacket she layers a silk scarf tied around her neck to soften the ruggedness of the utility jacket and elevate sophistication. She strikes the perfect balance between leisure and smart with an outfit that can be worn for a dog walk in the hills or a trip out for brunch.

Woan Lim

(@limwoan) – Who said you must ride or own horses to have an equestrian style wardrobe? I’m quite truly obsessed with Woan’s choice of styling here and her use of earthy tones which nod to the countryside. Her crisp white shirt offers a fresh Summery contrast to the darker palette of her breeches and handbag, keeping the look light and airy. The boots complete the look effortlessly and allow the outfit to be taken from Summer and Autumn whilst maintaining the aesthetic of rural chic.

Helena mottram

(@weather_with_helena) – Blending modern sophistication and a touch of rustic charm, Helena has styled an outfit that will turn heads. The blazer and belt partnership is the statement combination of this look. Not only does the belt accentuate her waist, but the rich brown tones create a contrast to the crisp white pinstripes of the blazer. In my opinion, this outfit is a masterclass in blending equestrian-inspired details, such as the belt, with modern tailoring.

Amanda Engstand

(@amandaengstrand) – This look had me at knits and iced coffee… Amanda’s look proves that we don’t need to leave all of our knits behind for Summer as she sports a chic lightweight short-sleeve cardigan with a matching grey asymmetric mini skirt. Whilst minimal, this co-ord gives such a polished finish with its monochromatic colour palette and soft embellishment.

L
